About Us
We (Chris and Karen Simpson, on the left in the picture) purchased the business in 1997, which has been operating in the same location since 1978, bringing with us our combined experience from working in the boating industry for many years and in many ways. We worked hard and our reputation grew. The amazing growth of the Internet gave us access to a much larger marketplace and more people were finding us from some very distant places until there weren’t enough days in the week – and we were already working all 7.
Our brokerage staff has recently been strengthened by the arrival of Todd Duff, whose life-long love affair with sailing has taken him to many far horizons over the past 25 years. For 16 of those years Todd worked as a broker in Annapolis (when he wasn’t sailing, that is), assisting other cruisers find and outfit their special boat and uses his in-depth knowledge to help his clients prepare to cast off their docklines and head out on their adventures. An accomplished navigator and licensed Master Mariner, sailing instructor and delivery captain, Todd KNOWS the cruising sailboat market.
Our most recent addition is Macy, our golden retriever born in March 2003. She is our four-footed, self-appointed, welcoming committee with the happiest of natures, and we all love her to pieces.
