About Us
Butta-Batu! was originally born as a sponsored Community Band back in 1995 and have grown to be a fully formed performance group specialising in static performance and street-carnival.
We have played many events including, The Millenium Dome 2000, Newark and Notts Show, Warsop Carnival, Lincoln HalfWay-Up-The-Hill Carnival, Kirkby in Ashfield Christmas Lights, Nottingham University Drums of Peace, Newark College Students Ball and many more too numerous to mention. We acknowledge the help of Nottinghamshire CC Next Stage Organisation.
We have provided samba percussion workshops to other community groups on a term basis and also on a one off basis prior to performance at carnivals, festivals and fêtes.
