- Burma Humanitarian Mission (BHM) is a project of Earthways Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in the spring of 1999 and the Action Resource Center, in Los Angeles. On our first mission (December 1999 and January 2000), we successfully delivered approximately six months' worth of medicine for 8,000 people living in Karen-occupied camps in the border areas of Burma. We also provided blankets, mosquito netting, clothes and other supplies. In addition, we provided emergency funds to a medical program for Burmese migrant workers.
