- Osteogenesis Imperfecta, (also known as OI), is a rare genetic disorder literally meaning imperfect bones and is characterized by bones that break easily, often with little or no apparent cause. There are at least six recognized forms of the disorder, representing extreme variation in severity from one individual to another.
