The Art of Harleys Festival, which took place Sunday, May 28, 2006, rocked n rolled Wickham Park for the 10th year running. Proceeds from the event are expected to be approximately $30,000 and 2,500 bikers, motorcycle enthusiasts, and BCA supporters attended the Festival.
It's quite an eclectic group for a MOB, but a MOB it is. At the suggestion of SWOF's Charlie Mars, 17 museums in Brevard County have joined together to form The MOB ( The Museums of Brevard!). The idea behind this is to have each venue promote themselves and other museums. We exchange brochures, calendars of events and offer discounts where possible. A web site has been established under the wizardry of SWOF's Ozzie Osband. The site concolidates all Brevard County museum lisings in one place and provides links to individual MOB museums. A brochure for The MOB is being prepared and underwritten by the Brevard Tourism Commission. Museums in this 72 mile long county include those showcasing the environment, Florida history, black culture, surfing, air history, space history, historical homes, a zoo, and a planetarium. There's plenty for all ages to see. Many have prgrams specifically tailored for chilldren. Be sure and checkout the new MOB website at www.museumsofbrevard.org and stop in for a visit the next time you're in one of their neighbourhoods.
