- It may shock some of our readers to learn that most of us here at Breakpoint City are fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000. And while no amount of online petitioning is gonna bring back the show, Mike Nelson does us one better and sort of reinvents the whole concept. It’s kinda like a streamlined, do-it-yourself MST3000: gone are the wraparound skits and funny robots (though DisembAudio, the show’s sythesized narrator fills this role,) but also gone are the tricky licensing fees that made airing reruns on cable such a pain. If Mystery Science was about crummy B-movies of yesteryear, RiffTrax is more about crummy blockbusters of the past two decades.
