Founder, Linda Halliday-Sumner is a survivor of incest and other sexual assaults. She began in Campbell River, B.C. in 1980 with a self help group for adult survivors of historical childhood sexual abuse. This group, Sexual Abuse Victims Anonymous (S.AV.A.) rapidly expanded into providing other services such as public and professional education, court support and preparation, lectures, workshops, research, and much more. Linda has worked extensively with police agencies, military, educational institutions, Crown counsels, defense lawyers, Aboriginal bands, sex offender treatment programs, victims assistance programs, etc. for 19 years. She has been declared an expert in the field in all levels of court in B.C. and Queen's Bench in Saskatchewan. She has published 21 books and booklets as well as produced two videos and acted as a consultant on a educational video for the hearing impaired.
