ABOUT OUR PHILOSOPHY!
I started breeding Labrador Retrievers in 1975. I have attempted to breed with the most unbiased eye, as well as using the science of genetics in selection of breeding stock. I have tried to improve the breed, not just generate pups.
I have never liked the idea of a female spending her life in a kennel producing pups. In the past, if I saw a pup with great potential, I retained the breeding rights. They are someone else's pet, family member and hunting dog.
Pups are almost always whelped out here at Bower and raised by me. They have their dew claws removed at 3 days of age. The pups health is guaranteed and I keep their shots and de-worming on schedule. I try my best to expose them to everything I can think of that might help them as older dogs. This includes a lot of loving and socializing with people, introduction to water, feathers, crates, vehicle rides, loud noises and of course trained to come to the whistle.
