Bottled History - Vestiges of a disappearing era in Scottish Malt Whisky Production. This magnificent book is compiled and photographed by Ian Macilwain from years of research and interviews with the old fellows involved in whisky distillation from a bygone era. This book is the fruits of five years work photographing forgotten corners and equipment in Scottish Malt Whisky ditileries . The author is a retired psychiatrist who managed to gain access to 55 distilleries and also to interview a sizeable number of retired employees who were able to recall stories from their lives in distilling back to the 60's and in some cases earlier. The book pairs up photographs and stories in a way which is both funny and informative , At the rear thumbnails give a lot more information about each picture to allow the reader to make sense of what they are looking at. The book has been favourably reviewed all over the world - in The UK but also in France , the Netherlands and the USA .
