- About Jim Botsford
- I’m Jim Botsford and a Professional Surveyor registered in New Mexico. I received my formal education in New Mexico graduating from Valley High School in Albuquerque and attending New Mexico State University with studies in electrical and civil engineering, surveying and computer science. I taught mapping, surveying and mathematics in the US Army Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. I received my surveying license in 1972 and started Botsford Land Surveying, Inc. (BLSI) in Las Cruces in 1975. In 1996 I sold the Las Cruces BLSI to an engineering firm and became a Trimble GPS dealer. We moved to the Albuquerque area in 1997 to be close to the geographical center of the state, population, and offsprings.
