- The official vocation site for the Sisters of Bon Secours, a Catholic order of Sisters / Nuns living the charism of "Healing, Compassion, and Liberation" through Catholic ministries in healthcare, human and social services, education, social justice and with our retreat center. Founded by Josephine Potel, and officially recognized as a Catholic community in 1824, the Congregation of the Sisters of Bon Secours has always sought to bring healing to the whole person. Sisters of Bon Secours was the first congregation to provide overnight nursing care to those in need in the United States, and continues to share gifts in healthcare as administrators, doctors, and nurses and in social services by providing low cost housing, special services for children and families, community organization and advocacy, and ministry to the homeless, the poor, and people with AIDS.
