Description
The church in Boise was started on Oct.12th, 1997 with a meeting of seven families that were living in Boise but worshiping in Caldwell. We considered it important that a conservative, Bible based congregation be established in the Boise area, so we found a building to rent that fit our budget and began meeting along with two other families who just moved to Idaho. God continues to add to our numbers and we now have about 50 in attendance each Sunday. We are all committed to worshipping, teaching and practicing our faith the way God would have us to as shown in the New Testament scriptures. Therefore we are an autonomous congregation, doing the work of the Lord to the best that He can use our abilities, and answering to no earthly head, organization, or group of leaders outside our local assembly. God's word is our guide and in reverence to Him, we seek to remain loyal to the spiritual work that the church which belongs to Christ was established to do.
Since our purpose is to be governed in all things by the Bible alone, our worship consists only of those elements which were a part of the worship of the early church. We sing and pray, partake of the Lord's Supper, preach God's word for our instruction, and give of our means. We seek to maintain the attitude Christ enjoined when he said: "God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth". (John 4:24)
The confusion of the religious world today is far different from the unity enjoyed by the early Christians, before traditionalism and distinctive names divided men. Believing such loyalties to be contrary to the scriptures, we have no sectarian organization or name, doctrine, or creed. Our authority is the divine authority vested only in the inspired scriptures. Thus, following the teaching of Christ and his apostles, we are simply Christians -- just as were the disciples of the first century. It is the only name by which we are known. The preaching and teaching are Bible preaching and teaching since the scriptures are sufficient for our every need. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
