About this site
Hi there. My name is Richard Bloomfield. I am single, and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. To pay my bills, I work as a Business Analyst for a software house. In my spare time, I sing in a church choir.
Although my origins are in Yorkshire England (God's own country), my home is in Edinburgh Scotland. My parents still live in Yorkshire, just outside the town of Ilkley. But it's their home not mine. I have never lived there except for a few days at a time. I feel a connection to the town of Knaresborough where I grew up, but it hasn't been my home for a long time. My life is in Edinburgh. I work here and own a flat here, and this is where my life happens.
Balance is important to me. I like to feel there is some form of equilibrium to everything I do. I like to balance my work and non-work life, so that neither dominates the other. I like to have a mixture of activity and inactivity, so that I can enjoy the times when I am busy and also the times when I can chill out and relax. I like to be both a rebel and a conformist. I enjoy being both argumentative and agreeable. I am both unreasonable and reasonable.
