In early 1996, the Bloomberg Orthopaedic & Neurosciences began distributing Orthopaedic products in the Western Cape. It has grown into a national operation, with exclusive distribution of products including Johnson & Johnson and other well-known household brand names. Besides distribution of imported medical products, the Company has begun manufacturing these products to supply the local markets and will shortly begin exporting them. Bloomberg Orthopaedic & Neurosciences is a leader in its field.
The construction and development division, Bloomberg Property Group, began in 1996 with the building and development of various medical facilities. With time this aspect of the Group grew into building and developing more general commercial buildings. The Group also owns a number of rent producing commercial properties. As the commercial market lost its buoyancy, the Group turned to developing and building housing in the Western Cape. Over the last four years the Bloomberg Group has focused on the development of luxury housing in the area between Bantry Bay and Camps Bay. Today, the Group is the largest strategic luxury housing developer in this area.
