- The Birth of Hope Campaign began with one person wondering out loud "what would happen if everyone, for one day, gave their wages to fight HIV/AIDS?" True, it is an ambitious goal to convince everyone to part with their wage for one day to stop HIV/AIDS. Nevertheless, we are convinced that once people know the truth they'll want to participate. Already over 20 million people have died of AIDS and today there are almost 40 million people infected with HIV. Daily, 8,000 die of AIDS and 11,000 more are infected with HIV. Let us realize the truth that Edmund Burke proclaimed when he said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Let's not wait to do what we can.
