Title

BirthNet - early signs of pregnancy week by week - miscarriage first signs symptoms of pregnancy due date calendar

Description

Birth.com.au was the brainchild of childbirth educator Sandra Robinson. Her idea was conceived with Catherine Price (a midwife) in September 1999. What started as a simple concept to create online childbirth education classes, rapidly mushroomed into a vast resource library of information on everything from how to conceive your baby, through the journey of pregnancy, birth and early parenting.

As two mothers working part-time in our chosen professions, it took a little over 2 years to design the website and write enough content to launch in December 2001. While administrating the site, it took another 2 years to complete the 1.2 million words of content on over 600 topics currently available. In September 2004, birth.com.au was published as Birth the book through PanMacmillan.

Our main aim was to provide quality information for all parents that was research-based and balanced, encompassing every aspect of medical care and natural therapies (explained in more detail here). Since then, our online baby has grown to include the birthtalks discussion forum (added in 2003), an email support service to answer personal questions, a week by week pregnancy email service and a birtharrivals announcement section.
