Billy the Kid Choppers & Cycles

Description

Excerpted from the website:

William "BILLY" Tippins has a love for working on bikes that started when he was a child. Not satisfied with the kind of bicycles that were available on the market he built his own. Soon he moved on to powered bikes with his first ride being a minibike. Now that thing was highly modified with custom exhaust, sissy bar, and engine mods that made it scary fast for someone his age. Next he built a more advanced bike using a motorcycle frame he traded his electric guitar for. It was a basket case . He completely rebuilt the frame and mounted a 5 horsepower tiller motor on (sorry dad) and boy it flew. The thing had a friction belt drive, like an old Harley Davidson that was tightened by a lever. It was something until one day when he was making a high speed pass in front of the house. She was birdworkin' when blam! the connecting rod came right thru the block! Next was the two cycle dirt bike stuff. A precursor to motorcross. Only then it was called "trail riding". Which meant not only going out on the highway, but out and up and down every goat trail that you could find in the wilderness. These bikes were great fun, and were pretty fast for their small cc size, and two cycle motors. Then came the life changing experience. At a friends house he saw his first side valved flat head Harley. It was a real beater. Must have been an old military surplus bike. It was all stripped down, and not even licensed for the street. I had been riding to high school on a 350 Honda, and this was my first look up close at a V-twin, except for the ones he had seen on the street. This guy was going to let me ride this thing, and it was something. Old jockey shift, heavy and hard to balance, but it made that sound. That sweet Harley sound, and that was all it took. From then on he was hooked. My work caught the attention of others, and the first custom bikes that I built was top fuel Harley stuff, for Bill Furr. You might say I jumped in with both feet. They were all custom built, tube frames, and the slicks that we were running on the back of them were bigger than some of the drag car tires that I had seen at the track. Bill was not scared to ride it. So each one built had a bigger tire, and more power, and went faster and faster to the point where now the fuel Harley stuff are scary fast two wheel rockets. It is work that I love, and I am grateful to be a part of. I am just as happy building a beach cruiser as I am building a full boogy Harley fuel bike. So when you are ready to build that special dream, do not buy some cookie cutter, built out of parts catalogs. See Billy for that one of a kind special dream, designed and built just for you.
