Representative Bill Callegari has represented the Katy area since his election in 2000. As a staunch fiscal conservative with an eye towards reducing the size of government, he has passed several bills to eliminate unnecessary government function, lower citizens' tax burdens, and improve government accountability.
During his tenure in the Texas House, Representative Callegari has worked extensively on complex issues including water policy, eminent domain, transportation, low-income housing reform, and government streamlining. As Chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform during the 80th Session, he managed to save Texas taxpayers from nearly $1 billion in new government spending.
