- This past weekend Adam and I met up with Carl to do some biking. I left work early to get home and pack my stuff. From there I headed out to Lansing to pick up Jess and her friends Steve and Coleen. We managed to fit Jess’s bike completely in the trunk of my car and rack the other 2 bikes (I stopped in Novi on my way out to drop my bike off with Adam). Adam met us at my parents house at about 8 and we got on the road. We got to the campground just before midnight, pitched the tents, and fell promptly asleep. I woke up early the next morning (force of habit now I suppose) and went out looking for an open store to buy some groceries for breakfast. Unfortunately the best I could find was a gas station that happened to sell a bit more. Knowing that we were going to be attempting a 50 mile ride, I bought stuff that was high in protein in an effort to minimize the possibility of going into hyopglycemic shock.
