Description
Jim Edwards received his Bachelor of Arts with High Honors from Auburn University in 1976, majoring in psychology and with minors in economics and French. In 1979, Jim graduated with High Honors from the University of Florida College of Law. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif legal honorary. He was a member of the University of Florida College of Law moot court team and served as a Legal Research and Writing Instructor.
Jim is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and a Certified Circuit Court Civil Mediator. He is a member of the Judicial Relations Committee for Orange County. He is a member of the Florida Bar's Trial Lawyers and Appellate Law Sections. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute. Jim was a sustaining member of the Product Liability Advisory Council from 1989 to 2001. He is a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators and serves on the Florida Bar Standing Committee on Professionalism.
Jim is admitted to practice before all courts in Florida, including all state trial and appeals courts. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Middle District, Southern District, and Northern District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. Jim was admitted to practice before United States Supreme Court in 1984. He holds the rating of "AV" from Martindale-Hubbell. Jim is a native of Orlando.
