Our History
The ancestor of Bibliographix was a small digital cardfile program in 1991 running under Windows 3.0 to assist Olaf Winkelhake in his Ph.D. project.
In 1993 the program that evolved from this cardfile was available as Bibliographica on the internet via e-commerce (although this term hadn't yet been coined at that time).
The year 2000 brought a lot of changes. The programming environment of Bibliographica was obsolete, and we needed to do something about it. Together with Marcus Schäfer, Olaf Winkelhake founded Bibliographix GbR. The goal was to develop Bibliographix, a whole new program, from scratch. It should be based on all the experience of earlier years. Also, we just wanted a much better piece of software. Our old customers tell us that we've reached this goal.
Since 2000 we were constantly working to improve Bibliographix and this lead to current version 6 released in 2006.
Our Company
Bibliographix GbR is a Germany-based company. The majority of our customers is from German speaking countries, but we have customers in almost every country worldwide, including NASA and the US National Institute of Health.
