- Mara Raskin, a Romana's Pilates Certified Instructor, is the principal instructor at Vital Pilates . In a day when "certifications" are given out after a weekend seminar, Mara went through the complete certification program in New York City and at the Pennsylvania Ballet, including a full apprenticeship with Master Instructor Romana Kryzanowska, who was trained and certified by Joseph Pilates himself.
