Brew Free or Die (BFD) was started in January of 1991 by several home brewers. These brewers were intent on establishing a homebrew club in New Hampshire to 'host' the American Homebrewers Association confrence held in June of that year in Manchester. We're New Hampshire's first homebrew club and currently the most active in the state.
BFD's membership is usually around 40 members, in all levels of experience. For example, all-grain brewers, beginning extract brewers, professional brewers, and people who've never brewed. The one common thread amoung our membership is an enthusiastic interest in beer.
We have, as members, several Master and National-level beer judges, and a lot of Certified and Recognized-level judges. Having so many judges provides a good source of accurate, real-time beer evaluation. We also have such distinguished members as officers of the Beer Judge Certification Program and Professional Brewers. We have no affiliation with other groups, although we do have several members who are also members of the Boston Wort Processors, Boston's oldest homebrew club.
