Description
Excerpted from the website:
- The concept for Behrens Communications began to form in the mid-Sixties, during the Vietnam Conflict. Then, as now, amateur radio operators were often at the forefront in Communications technology. Larry Behrens (ex-WAØLCD) went to Vietnam in May of 1967, remaining in-country until 1969. Operating as "Teach", he and his teams were an integral part of the Ninth Infantry Division's Crypto-secure link to 'Naval Liaison' (Vung Tau) and the Mobile Riverine Forces in the Mekong Delta.
Back in the USA, Behrens expanded into the construction arena, specializing in telephone, utilities, and powerline construction. With time out for formal studies in languages and international terrorism, Behrens returned to government service in 1978 at a small US Army compound in Pirmasens (former West Germany), providing mobile Communications, training, and inspection services to the North Army Group throughout Germany and Holland.
Since 1982, Behrens has completed contracts in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Thailand, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, Johnston Atoll, Korea, and Hawaii. Projects have included individual and team training, site safety, language training, regulatory compliance, technical writing and document development.
