Description
Palmen Motors, located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was founded in 1937 by Howard Palmen as an automobile service business. From there, he expanded the business into a gas station, and then a custom-built dealership that sold GMC trucks, Studebaker, and eventually Chrysler and Plymouth vehicles.
His sons, Ron and Roger, took over the business in 1970, and acquired the Dodge franchise. In the late 1980's, the business moved to a new, state-of-the-art dealership in the Western part of Kenosha.
Today, the family tradition continues as Ron's sons, first Andrew and then Jon, continue to move the business forward with the addition of Oldsmobile (1989), KIA (1999) and Cadillac (2000) franchises. In 2002, two additional dealerships, were added to the Palmen Family: Schaefer Automotive (featuring Pontiac, Saab and JEEP vehicles) and Belle Dodge, both located in Racine, Wisconsin.
