You may be wondering who were are here at Bears-Fans.com, so we thought we would take this space to educate anyone who might be curious. We, like so many that visit this site, are die-hard, true blue (navy blue that is and with orange too), through and through Chicago Bears fans. We live for Sundays between August and January and our season doesn't end. After the Super Bowl, we are looking towards the rookie combine, draft, and free agency. Once free agency has gone, it's all eyes ahead on the camps and from there is just a short skip till pre-season.
This site has been a long standing idea that was just put off. With the help of some great software and some bandwidth, we are up and running. This site is built on Six Apart's Movable Type content publishing system and hosted by our friends at Spleck hosting solutions. Movable Type is free to use as long as it is used non-commercially, which are our intentions for Bears-Fans.com. Spleck hosting solutions is by far the least expensive hosting company we have seen and the service is bar-none. We would encourage anyone who is looking to have the hosting needs filled to take a look at Spleck's pricing. These elements along with some in-house programming, and wa-la!
We have no specific intentions with our site other than to keep Bears fans informed. There are no plans to sell the site or to find ways for it to make money. If the site ever got big enough where our bandwidth or staff needs exceeded our budget (HA!, budget), then we would look at ways to make those funds available through donations or some advertising. But we are not in this to make money. But if someone from the Bears organization is reading this, we would be more than happy to get some tickets or maybe meet some of the staff and players ;).
