- About the Bernoulli Center for Economics
- The Bernoulli Center for Economics was founded in 2006 by Prof. Dr. Aleksander Berentsen, Prof. Dr. Yvan Lengwiler, and Prof. Dr. Georg Nöldeke at the University of Basel in honour of Daniel Bernoulli. Daniel Bernoulli is the founder of the Expected Utility Theory which is a cornerstone in modern economics. His famous article “ Specimen Theoriae Novae de Mensura Sortis ” was published in 1738, 268 years ago. Daniel Bernoulli was a professor at the University of Basel in the 18th century.
