Located in-between Meridale and historic East Meredith NY, Rich Briscoe (with the help of family and friends) designed and constructed the equipment needed to blow glass." The first thing you need is fire, and a lot of it." The propane fired furnaces take care of that, running at temperatures up to 2400'F." The next thing you need is vision. When you first start to make a piece it is just a molten glob. You have to be able to picture what the piece is going to be, and then make it happen. It goes from a raw material to a beautiful piece of glass right before your eyes. Each "starter gather" can turn into an infinet number of things, and with the different paths you can take to create that shape the possibilities are endless. That is what is so intriguing about glass. you will never know every thing about glassblowing.
