That's me on the left. I became a UIAGM mountain guide after a career as an architect in London. During the previous 10 years I had clocked up a ridiculously large amount of expedition time in the Karakoram and Himalaya, and it seemed just wrong to spend my remaining days in the confines of four walls with only a window to remind me there was an 'out there'.
I worked with ISM (International School of Mountaineering) for six years and I continue to collaborate with them on a freelance basis. I became a member of the SNGM (National Syndicate of French Mountain Guides) in 2003.
