This year the race will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at 10:00 AM On August 3, 1995, Patrolman Lee E. Barta of the Binghamton, NY Police Department was shot to death in the line of duty. Lee left behind two children and an expectant wife... Since that tragic day, the community has come together with the City of Binghamton, the Binghamton Police Benevolent Association and area businesses to keep Lee's memory alive in the hearts and minds of the people he died serving.
