Egyptian Arabian Horses and Fine Art from Baraka Farm.

Description

In the early 60's Barbara Sutherland and Tyrone Lewis met while both were students at the Memphis Academy of Arts, now known as the Memphis College of Arts. Barbara was a resident of Memphis, whereas Tyrone had come to pursue his interest in painting from his home in western Arkansas. Their love of nature and common interests in the arts soon brought them together. They were married and had two daughters, Whitney and Fielding. In 1991, they adopted their newborn granddaughter, Alexis.

Today, they make their home on their horse farm in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of Western Arkansas, near the town of Mena. This area, rich in world class Egyptian Arabian horse, had sparked a childhood dream in Barbara. She began her involvement with horses through her art, and gained worldwide recognition as an equestrian and portrait painter. It wasn't long before she purchased her own beautiful Arabian mare, and today has become known as a breeder of quality Egyptian Arabian Horses. Her activities with the parent club, The Pyramid Society, is but a part of the changes made by her love for these horses. Their fine stallion, Ansata El Shahraf has contributed extensively to the realization of her dream. Barbara also owns and operates the popular Arabian horse websites, pyramidarabians.com and arabians-international.com.

Both Barbara and Tyrone travel in pursuit of their interest. Barbara travels internationally visiting breeders and horse shows around the world. Tyrone focuses his travels on areas of the country that provide material for his paintings. Alexis enjoys traveling with them and has horses of her own.
