Description
Holmhead is roughly equidistant from Edinburgh and York, on the Cumbrian Northumbrian border and near the Scottish border. Three miles from the exact 'Centre of Britain'.
It is set in a sheltered valley in the south west corner of England's most northerly National Park, in quiet fields yet less than a mile from Greenhead village on the A69 and B6318 junction.
It has, however, been adapted to a new role over the past few years: no longer a working farm, it is now the home of Pauline and Brian Staff, who take great pleasure in welcoming guests to this delightful old house, with the idea of sharing their knowledge (especially Roman) and enthusiasm for the area, with others.
