Using The Library
Library cards are FREE to all residents of Banff and ID#9. To obtain a library card, please present a piece of picture identification and proof of residency. Residents of Canmore may obtain a guest membership for an annual fee of $12.00. Non-Residents may obtain a membership for a non-refundable annual fee of $60.00.
Please bring your library card with you every time you visit the library. Your card permits you to borrow books, magazines, compact discs, videos, DVDs, and audiotapes. You do not need a library card to attend library programmes, use the Internet, or use materials within the library.
One of the free access terminals is provided by the CAP-APLEN project. CAP (Community Access Program) is a Government of Canada initiative, administered by Industry Canada, which aims to provide Canadians with free Internet access in public libraries accross Canada. As part of this goal, CAP in association with APLEN (Alberta Public Libraries Electronic Network), has provided funding to install an Internet Station in every library in Alberta.
