Description
Wool weaving was started in the year 1936 on the site where you today will find Baltic Textile Company. At this time the factory consisted of 7 looms, producing yearly app. 7000 m of fabrics from worsted wool for men’s suit and women’s dresses. Today we employ 150 workers and produce approx. 1.500.000 meters of top quality furniture fabrics, wool cloth and plaids. Furthermore we have established a service department for cutting and sewing sample material and printing and sewing of head rest covers for the flight industry.
During the Soviet occupation of Lithuania the company was among the most sought after at the trade fairs in Moscow where state companies placed orders to each other.
In 1999 the company Baltic Textile Company was founded as a Danish-Lithuanian joint Venture and took over machines and buildings and employed the most skilled workers.
