Coordinates: 25°50′N 72°14′E  /  25.83°N 72.23°E  / 25.83; 72.23 Balotra is a town in Barmer District of Rajasthan state in India. It is about 100 km from Jodhpur. The first modern settlement was brought up by Vaala Ji Rajpurohit (a Siha Rajpurohit) from whom the town derives its name from. His clan first established their residence in the Chhatrion ka Morcha region of the town which still exhibits the antiquity of historical relevance. Siha and other Rajpurohits are still found in great numbers in and around Balotra. The town is famous for hand block printing and textile industry and for an annual desert and tribal fair at Tilwara. The town is well connected with Jodhpur by rail and buses at frequent intervals. Night buses to Ahmedabad are also available .
