Title

The Gonstead Difference - Winnsboro Chiropractic Clinic Texas

Description

In the early 1960's word was spreading about a chiropractic "miracle man" who's adjusting technique worked miraculously. He was located in the small farming community of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin that had only 1,200 residents, yet he treated 200 patients per day, seven days per week. He was totally dedicated to his occupation and would work from 8:00 AM to 3:00 AM the following morning, he did not believe in going to bed the same day he woke up. He was seeing patients from several hundred miles away and all of them via word of mouth. Dr. Gonstead earned great recognition due to the large number of fellow chiropractors that he treated. He gained the reputation of being the chiropractor's chiropractor. It was not unusual to find doctors and their families standing in long lines going down the sidewalk waiting for hours to be adjusted by the "great one". Soon other chiropractors were referring their difficult cases to Dr. Gonstead and it was not long before he needed a larger clinic. He built a 22,000 square foot clinic that has seating for over 106 patients in the reception area. It was very common for the reception room to be full and since doctors and patients from all over the United States and Canada were coming for treatment Dr. Gonstead built a hotel next to his clinic. Patients would come and stay from several days to several weeks depending on the severity of their condition; they were usually treated twice per day in the beginning to get the quickest results possible.

Dr. Gonstead became a chiropractor in 1923 after experiencing a chiropractic miracle of his own. As a young man he suffered from a painful and crippling episode of rheumatoid arthritis which he finally got help for through chiropractic care. Due to Dr. Gonstead's great conviction in chiropractic his practice quickly became noted for treating all kinds of severe conditions. After not being helped by other health care practitioner's people came to him with Cerebral Palsy, seizures, disc herniations, comas, paralysis and many other diseases. During the 1940 Polio epidemic many people were diagnosed with polio by medical doctors in Madison, Wisconsin but only treated by Dr. Gonstead. It is said that he never lost a patient with Polio to death or disfigurement.

Drs. Alex and Doug Cox began studying with Dr. Gonstead in the early 1960's and Dr. Gonstead sold the Gonstead seminars and Gonstead clinic to them before his death in 1978. They too are known as the chiropractor's chiropractors and were totally committed to their profession. They continue to pass on and teach what they learned from Dr. Gonstead and from their own experiences of over 30 years of practicing this unique technique and treating over 25,000 patients per year. The Gonstead Clinic has built a reputation of being the "Mayo Clinic of Chiropractic"
