Charlotte and Elrod founded Ayers Leather Shop, Inc. in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1950. Their daughter, Deb Ayers Agnew, grew up in the business, and after her graduation from college in 1971 joined her parents full time. Today Deb is CEO and head buyer. You will often find her on the floor helping a newcomer to Greenville, or on the phone with an old corporate client. Charlotte and Elrod, while semi-retired, lend a wealth of help and advice to Deb, the staff, and the customers of Ayers Leather Shops. The staff is extremely loyal and experienced, with the average employment at over 15 years. Compare that with the employees who don't know or don't care, that you find in department stores, chain stores and mall shops. The Ayers, their daughter, and everyone on the staff have traveled extensively. They have also built a rapport with business men and women from literally all over the world who regularly travel to Greenville. That experience gained directly, and through almost 50 years of close contact with international and domestic travelers, is available for your benefit.
