Description
History
The Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI) is a nonstock, nonprofit organization that serves as the socio-cultural development arm of the Ayala Group of Companies (AGC). Through various social development and cultural programs, the Foundation works to fulfill the needs of the whole person, firmly believing in the human being as less of an object of charity than a cause for celebration.
The Foundation was established by Col. Joseph McMicking and his wife, Mercedes Zobel in 1961. Then called the Filipinas Foundation, it was primarily dedicated to technical and vocational education, social science and research, livelihood and the arts.
It was renamed Ayala Foundation, Inc. in the 1990s, renewing the commitment and support of the AGC. Through its divisions, the present Foundation moves along a holistic response to the complex needs of the Filipino.
