Austin WingTsun™ Academy
Description
The Austin WingTsun™ Academy was founded by Sifu Jeff Webb in the mid-80's in order to bring the art of WingTsun™ kungfu to Austin. Between 1986 and 1991, Sifu Webb organized numerous seminars in Austin, bringing in several certified WingTsun™ instructors to improve his own training and that of his students.
In late 1991, Sifu Webb left for the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany for close to four years. There he studied under the European WingTsun™ Organization (EWTO) and earned his 2nd Level Technician rank and the title of "Sifu" before returning the Texas in late 1995.
Upon his return, Sifu Webb immediately began rebuilding and reorganizing his group of students with the goal of opening the first professional WingTsun school in Austin. Within 18 months the Academy found a permanent home at 5318 Manchaca Road in South Austin -- becoming the very first professional WingTsun™ school in the city.
