- has been involved in fencing for more than 30 years. He started to fence at the age of 6, following his family tradition. He won numerous athletic titles at a very young age, but most of all Alex wanted to be like his Dad. He wanted to be a coach. Right now Alex Kuznetsov is known as one of the most outstanding foil coaches in the United States. He coached members of the US, Canada and Israel National Teams. He also served as a varsity team coach at Stanford University. Among his students were Sean McClain (Gold Medalist of 2001 U.S. National Championship), Iris Zimmerman (1 place in 2000 NCAA Fencing Championship), Tim Chang, Alex Wood, Ilya Miloslavski (Members of U.S. National Team 2001, 2002, 2004) and other. It seems like coaching is a given talent for Alex. He always finds an individual approach for each of his students and they really enjoy working with him. Alex is an internationally-acclaimed fencing judge as well.
