Atheism and the SolSeedMovement

The SolSeedMovement is not a religion, but some members of the movement identify themselves with various religions. Specifically, this page looks at how the SolSeedMovement fits with those who identify themselves as atheists.
Among other things, atheism is a sort of positive nihilism. Yes, if there is no God, then the universe wasn't made for any particular purpose, and our lives have no inherent goal. But we can make our own purpose; that is the power of the human mind, to find new reasons for being beyond simply obeying what our DNA tells us to do. Caring for each other and for all life on Earth are two such self-made purposes. TheDestiny is another, and it may one day become the most powerful and central purpose of our civilization.
