- Founded in 1987, The Lady Taverners have since raised over £6 million. The Lord's Taverners is famous for its charitable giving to cricket but The Lady Taverners tend to focus their fundraising on specially adapted minibuses and sport and recreation for young people with special needs.
- Joan Morecambe, the Founder President of The Lady Taverners, was succeeded in 1993 by Judith Chalmers, who in 2001 handed over the Presidency to Rachael Heyhoe Flint.
