- Arts Mid North Coast aims to engage with all relevant sectors of the regional community to promote, facilitate and advocate for arts and cultural development across the Mid North Coast region.
- Regional Arts Development Officers are funded by the Ministry of the Arts, a state government department, and generally receive a financial contribution towards their operational costs from each of the local government councils in the defined region. Regional Arts Development Officers exist in most of the Ministry of the Arts designated regions in the state, with the exception of the Far North Coast and the Far South Coast where a collaborative approach from local government, towards regional arts development, has been difficult to obtain.
- Regional Arts Development Officers usually operate in the capacity of a Chief Executive Officer to a Regional Arts Board, a separately constituted, non-profit, incorporated association which applies for and receives government grants, sponsorship and generates other income in order to carry out its brief.
