Leon Lippert (1863-1947) painted from his own studio in downtown Cincinnati for nearly 60 years. Noted for his portraiture, the artist also left behind a versatile body of art that includes life studies, landscapes, still lifes, murals, church paintings and commercial illustrations. He is represented in the Cincinnati Art Museum with "Fountain Square 1929" and an engaging portrait of his "Young Apprentice." Much of his other work is in family collections or with other collectors.
