Excerpted from the website:
- In the spring of 2004, in Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada, 7 amateur oenophiles decided to form a wine appreciation club. Its aim would be just that - to educate members to not only taste wine, but to appreciate the intricacies of the wine industry as a whole. Relatively unknown grapes such as the "Fiano" of Italy or the "Durif" of Australia, just to name a few, would be compared with the more popular varieties. Other topics of interest now include interpreting wine labels and deciphering the story a cork can tell after being pulled. Smelling a cork really does nothing but make one look like an idiot.
