One of a very few independent DTP services providers, ANY Phototype has very unique strengths that have enabled the business to survive under industry changes.
Foreign-language composition is our specialty. In fact, ANY Phototype is one of the largest providers of foreign-language typography in the world. Our sophisticated, proprietary system allows you to communicate with confidence in over 1,000 languages. What’s more, we have an extensive library of fonts, and can produce matching fonts in any language. We also offer translation services, using carefully chosen translators who are native speakers of the language in question. We have alot of experience with non-standard platforms, font encodings, software, and people. Do not hesitate to contact us if you're stuck with a difficult job; we have completed difficult jobs while others would still be scratching their heads.
ANY Phototype was founded in 1976 by Anatol and Noel Shavzin, and Yuri Stark, joined in 1977 by Harold Katzman. The company is owner-operated, which means every project gets the personal attention of our principals. We have exacting standards, and our work shows it. That's been the key to our longevity and success: highly qualified management committed to earning our customers' trust by providing the best in quality and service. All the partners had backgrounds in typesetting, publishing and foreign languages, and the company was geared towards typesetting work in foreign languages. Three of the four partners are actually foreign-born, and to them "English" is no different from any other language. Thus ANY completed every job in the same manner; layout, kerning and proofing.
