Artist Suzanna Antonez- Edens. Suzanna Antonez-Edens is an award winning artist now living in Puerto Rico. She was previously married with the name Susan Groover and lived at the time in Atlanta, Georgia. Her main mediums are oil on canvas and pen and ink on paper. During her time in Atlanta she painted large bold semi-figurative pieces and was commissioned to paint a series for the Atlanta Olympics. Her 4ftx5ft paintings were done live on site each day totaling 16 paintings in all. Divorced and remarried Suzanna spent several years living in Mexico where her work took a dramatic change. The simplicity and beauty the surrounded her as well as a complete change to her lifestyle and the new and positive energy that engulfed her from the nature and people of Mexico led her to reevaluate the direction of her work. During her time in Mexico she produced only a few pieces. The new direction of her work began to emerge when she returned to the US where she briefly lived in Florida. During that time a peaceful repetitive element that found it's base in nature and the desert of Mexico began to appear in her work. Suzanna next moved to Puerto Rico. There her studio exploded with new works on canvas and pen and inks on paper. Her work continues to be based in nature and many viewers remark that it has an "Asian" feel to it. When asked about this the artist states that her work is minimal yet complex and appreciates the compliment of such a comparison. Suzanna Antonez-Edens works can be found in both private and corporate collections in the US and Japan. Her next showing is at the SOHO Art Gallery in Osaka, Japan May 18th 2010. Suzanna is exhibiting one of her paintings from the 2010 series "Sakura". Suzanna is currently seeking a public art works project.
