I grew up in the Midwest about 15 miles from the Field of Dreams..."is this heaven?---No it's IOWA", in the small community of Cascade, about 25 miles south of Dubuque. I received my BA in Education from the University of Iowa, and my MA in Communication from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. My career has taken a variety of paths, but I have most recently been doing college course website building, web project management, graphic design, and college professor-instructor facilitation for Great River Technologies in Dubuque, IA. Previously, I was employed at Intel in Santa Clara, CA doing website design, website management, online communication for a 1600 member organization, California Technology & Manufacturing (CTM), on both the CTM Training and CTM Communications teams. Prior to that, I taught communication at the college level, managed a basic skills program, led a diversity implementation program, helped implement a northern New Mexico student mentoring program as well as worked on a variety of other projects in the Training Department at Los Alamos National Laboratory. My first position after receiving my MA degree was to manage an adult education training center where individuals worked on attaining their GED or developing their work skills. Finally, prior to starting my family and just after graduating from the University of Iowa, I worked for two years as an elementary teacher at Willowwind School in Iowa City, IA.
