- ANI was incorporated in 1989 with the original goal of providing technical consulting to the communications industry. After completing several assignments for large cellular and paging companies, it became apparent that there was no organization or plan behind the site management or site ownership industry. Most building owners either did not want communications tenants or did not know how to handle the details of rooftop contracts, rates or technical considerations. Towers and rooftops also had little or no promotion, so prospective tenants faced the additional problem of not even knowing who to contact to rent space.
