The Society in its present form was established in 1958 and grew out of the Anglo Spanish League of Friendship. It is modelled on a much earlier Society of the same name (founded in 1919). “The Society is a registered charity, whose objects are to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples of Britain and Spain through knowledge of each other’s customs, institutions, history and way of life.
